Watch the Sussex Youth Commission film ahead of their Big Conversation Conference

12/09/2014

On Tuesday (16 September) 28 young people, age 14 to 25, from across the county will present their findings and recommendations on five priority issues to the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne and Chief Constable, Giles York.

The event is called the Big Conversation Conference and is being held at the American Express Community Stadium in Brighton. The PCC and representatives from Sussex Police will be joined by local councillors, schools, community groups and MPs.

Commenting ahead of the conference, Mrs Bourne said: “I am really looking forward to next Tuesday’s (16 September) event and listening to the SYC’s recommendations as well as taking part in the round table discussions.

“Far too often, young people are seen as the perpetrators of crime, when in fact, they are more likely to be victims of crime. The Sussex Youth Commission project has given young people across the county a real voice on policing and crime.
